The Friday Five

1. What decade did you attend/are you attending high school or college?

High school, the '70's. College, the '80's.

2. What clothing fashion from that time are you glad/do you wish went out of style?

I've never been a "fashion maven" so it's pretty much always been Levi's and a comfortable shirt for me and my jobs have almost always supported that.

Although, if I may fast forward to the late '80's when I had a retail job that I had to dress "nicely" for, my very favorite thing was my shiny neon green jacket, which, by the way, I still own!

3. Do you still listen to the music from your high school/college years on a regular basis?

Oh Yeah!!! I stopped listening to most new music in the late '80's. I'll forever be a Motown girl!

4. What hairstyle/hair color did/do you wear during high school/college?

After those answers, I'm sure you'll be shocked to learn that my hair style and color also remains pretty much the same. Shoulder length, blonde and straight.

5. What was/is "the cool thing to do" while in high school/college?

OK, I don't know if this was cool or stupid, but it was fun!

It was the dead of winter in Huron, Ohio. The house my three roommates and I rented (which was known on campus as "The House") was just a break wall away from Lake Erie.

It was bitterly cold.

We went to the nearest actual beach and filled everything we could find with sand and hauled it all back to the house and poured it all in the living room, right on top of the carpet, until it was about an inch deep through the entire room.

We then commenced our Winter Beach Party.

Everyone came in bathing suits and shorts and sandals and brought beach blankets to sit on.

At one point, some of the party goers were running low on beer and munchies, so those of us who didn't drink (yes, I did this stone cold sober) made a run to the 7/11 dressed only in our beach gear, car windows down, music blasting, snow 3" deep on the ground.

Memories, like the corners of my mind...
